How To Make A Great Lip Scrub

It’s time to get your lips ready for summer. We have the cure. Our DIY lip scrub will ensure your lips stay luscious and free of dead skin. Yuck! Go away dead skin, nobody wants you around.

So how do you make a good lip scrub? The good news is you can create your own scrub from scratch (your kitchen is a magical place). Even better news? We have tried and tested these recipes and they WORK!

CLASSIC SUGAR SCRUB:
In a small container mix the ingredients together. To use, simply rub the scrub on your lips in circular motions, gently exfoliating the dead skin away.
  • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil or olive oil (virgin)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
    LIP PLUMPING SUGAR SCRUB:
Want to give your lips an extra oomph factor? This recipe is for you!
    • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil or olive oil (virgin)
    • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
    • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
    • 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
    • 1/2 tablespoon of peppermint oil

The great thing about lip scrubs, other than being able to do it yourself, is that the kitchen really is home to loads of ingredients you can add to your scrub depending on what you need. Your sugar and oil/honey base will serve as a good starting point for any additional ingredients: add vanilla extract for some fragrant flavor, lime juice for an acidic peel… The options are truly endless!

*Tip: Want to get more exfoliation out of the process? Try mixing salt into your scrub. The coarse sugar granules in combination with the finer salt granules will create a nice texture to get even the toughest dead skin! Remember to go gentle when scrubbing with the salt.
